Scarlet Fever

That's right, children (maybe adults) can still get Scarlet Fever. Superbowl Sunday, Darby told us, "my tummy hurts." We just figured he was constipated or gassy, so naturally we shrugged the tummy hurting to the side in order to enjoy the Superbowl and commercials. When it was time for bed, Darby barely made it before passing out. I thought, "Oh, he's just super tired."

Monday was the normal routine of getting everyone ready and rushed out the door for work and school. However, Darby seemed a little disoriented. In the middle of first hour, I received the phone call from his school telling me he needed to be picked up.

By the time I arrived, Darby was completely lethargic, drooling, and mumbling. Any person would have thought he was heavily drugged or medicated. He also had a rash covering his ENTIRE body. When I say entire, I am talking ears-fingers-face-etc. By the time I got him to the doctor's office his temperature was 105. My doctor took one look at him and said, "He has the Scarlet Fever." They ran a culture, and sure enough, it was indeed SCARLET FEVER.

Thankfully, we got him on the right medicine and now he is doing much better. His temperature has been staying down, but his rash still looks awful.

I don't think I have ever been so scared, seeing my son in that condition. It was frightful.

My sweet babies...

ICE STORM 2010!!!

There is not really that much to post or write about. Life has been a steady routine for awhile. However, here lately we have been cooped up inside due to the ICE STORM of 2010. It was not near as bad as I thought it would be. Yet, I loved the family time.

Here are just a few recent photos to keep you up to date on our beautiful and lovely kiddos.

Darby did get really sick for awhile. Regan and I had to tag team taking days off from school. It was scary, but all is well now. He is back to being a typical three-year-old stink pot-whom I love dearly!

We took the kiddos to a Central basketball game, and they had a great time. The Baughman's brought their kiddos, and made for an eventful evening out.

I think Scout found a new hobby...YIKES!

Scout thought it would be cute to practice Yoga with me. She is actually pretty good. I was impressed for a two-year-old.

These next two photos are cute. I found Scout on a chair playing with the light switch. I got on to her, put the chair back, and told her no. I then went to clean up a mess. When I went to check on Scout...I found the second photo.

These next photos are from New Year's Eve. WOW, that seems like ages ago...
